The President of the IACM, Antonio Huerta has been elected academic of the Royal Academy of Engineering (RAI),
Antonio Huerta, a civil engineer by the Technical University of Catalonia (UPC), and Doctor by the Northwestern University (USA). He is a professor of Applied Mathematics at the UPC, director of ICREA and president of the International Association of Computational Mechanics (IACM). He has been director of the School of Civil Engineering of the UPC. During his career, he has made outstanding contributions in simulation and modeling in engineering that had a great scientific impact in specific fluids, solids and wave problems. He has also led the creation of a unique laboratory that combines excellence and mathematical rigor with applications and research at the frontier of knowledge in engineering (mechano-biology, electro-active materials, credible calculation, etc.).
